Roman Calendar Widget Script

The original calendar was created by Laura Gibbs of at rotatecontent.com website. (rotatecontent.com)

Laura's calendar script is/was at Bestiaria Latina Blog. (widgets.bestmoodle.net/scripts/romancal.js)

The html insert code for Laura's script is also at Bestiaria Latina Blog. (schoolhousewidgets.blogspot.com/2010/12/roman-calendar-script.html)

Laura's script required regular updating because of contemporary leap year, according to Laura, on a discussion at Bestiaria Latina Blog. (schoolhousewidgets.blogspot.com/2010/12/roman-calendar-widget.html)

Because the calendar had not been updated, with Laura's permission, E.S. Simpson copied and modified Laura Gibbs' script to create a perpetual calendar for the Temple of Fortuna dot com website that did not require updating. The script for this revised calendar is uploaded to cloud storage (https://od.lk/f/MzBfMTYzMjg4ODNf) The script included the following non-traditional modification to compensate for leap year:

FEB 24: ante diem sextum Kalendas Martias: Regifugium

FEB 25: mensis communis ante diem quintum Kalendas Martias: Sementina | mensis intercalaris ante diem bis sextum Kalendas Martias: Regifugium

FEB 26: mensis communis ante diem quartum Kalendas Martias | mensis intercalaris ante diem quintum Kalendas Martias: Sementina

FEB 27: mensis communis ante diem tertium Kalendas Martias: Equirria | mensis intercalaris ante diem quartum Kalendas Martias

FEB 28: mensis communis pridie Kalendas Martias | mensis intercalaris ante diem tertium Kalendas Martias: Equirria

FEB 29: mensis intercalaris pridie Kalendas Martias

The major work of researching and transcripting the holidays, within the original script and as shown on the working widget for both scripts, are the work of the original script author Laura Gibbs of Bestiaria Latina Blog. (http://bestlatin.blogspot.com)
